Procrastination of what you really want

In the everyday life, do you find yourself not being able to do what you really want?

Do you find yourself in situations, where you argue towards yourself that you:
– Have to
– Should do
– Ought to
– Must
– Have the responsibility for

Then you may procrastinate what you really want, or even worse you may simple have forgotten what you like to do and what makes you happy.

The everyday life contains lots of duties: Cleaning, washing clotches, keeping order, work, duty towards friends and family. Often there is not enough time during the day. So sometimes we choose to do what we must do – first, and then …well then we have no more time.

So the individual need and desired get procrastinated away, so we will do this first and then…So once we get around to having some time we end up not doing something for ourselves, but e.g. collapses in front of the TV instead.

Some may end up in a situation where they wait:
– Wait for the appropriate timing
– For the children to grow older
– For the family economy to become better

So the time passes, and some end up in a situation where all attention is directed towards duties, work and family – combined with a hope that some day, we will find the time.

Waiting for this to happen most likely leads to more waiting, as the duties are not going to disappear. Therefore we have to prioritize and for some also re-visit our hopes and dreams, what we think are fun to do and prioritize this into the everyday life.

If we do not do this, we may end up in a situation where life no longer feels fun, but an obligation. This can lead to depression, low self esteem, distance towards ones partner, loneliness and the lack of meaning of life.
